New travel suit case

I forgot to pay this earlier but I picked up a new hard side suit case for this trip.

We were looking online and keep seeing Traveler Pro coming up on recommendation list. They apparently were started by an airplane pilot made for frequent flyers. The first company to add spinning wheels.

We picked the Maxlite Air hard side case, in blue. We normally do soft side so we just wanted to try without going crazy. We also decided to go with the large size to replace an old America Tourister. We wanted something large and light weight for our longer trips next year.

We have high hopes for this case. We will keep you updated.

Eurika!

Left the hotel and walked down 6th Street. The locals call it Dirty 6th. We quickly found out why. There is a large number of dive bars and homeless people within a few blocks. We walked around looking for something to eat and ended up going to Eurika, which is at the start of 6th bar screen.

The food and service is great. The staff was very helpful and they made some recommendations that were spot on. We grabbed two salads. The Cobb salad and the steak salad. They were both great.

The real treat however is there whiskey selection. I was able to grab a flight of local whiskey to find some new likes.

The Driskill Hotel.

Touched down in Austin and headed to our hotel, The Driskill Hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel. It’s the second oldest hotel in Texas. It has a charm and elegance that you just don’t find anymore. If you get a chance you should at least visit the hotel next time your in Austin even if you can not stay here.

Coopers Barbecue

OMG This place is awesome. We grabbed some brisket and sausage and are already planning on coming back and we haven’t left yet.

You order your meats by weight and they are so good you don’t need sauce. The sides are cafeteria style, and great.

You really need to come to Cooper’s when you hit Austin. Oh did I mention the prices are reasonable? No well they are.

Good food reasonable price, what’s not to like.

Old Mill Crank-Up

Last weekend we traveled to a local festival called the Ole Mill Crank-Up. It take place just outside of Sanford, NC. once a year. It’s a two day festival where you can access the longest standing covered bridge in NC and see an water powered gris mill in action. There are vendors, food, out door music and a fun family atmosphere that harkens back to aby gone time. I have included some pictures below and would recommend marking your calendars for next year.

Disney Hollywood Studios

So we hit Disney Studios today. We were really looking forward to riding dinner of the new rides that have been added. But it didn’t turn out quite as we had hoped.

We started off with the Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. It was a fun and enjoyable ride with a 40 minute wait.

We then tried Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This is an enjoyable 4 minute ride with an 80+ wait time. Not really worth it if you want my opinion.

The next ride we wanted to do was Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. We never got around to it since the wait time stayed between 100 – 200 minute wait time.

However, we did some other older rides which had no wait normally. You could really tell which rides had not had a recent movie release as they were empty.

I will say that the Star Wars area is awesome. I grabbed a few pics to share:

Don’t forget to bring your towel.

OMG Show

Went to the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur Casino

We have been to other similar show such as Medievel Times. This was definitely different. The inclusion of the King Author story and dancers added a great differentiator. If you have three time you should definitely go.
